TAKS Assessment Web Resources and References:

  SURFING THROUGH TEXAS

Introduction

Since teachers do not have a lot of time to search the internet for resources, we have designed this section to help you use your time more efficiently. Guiding questions are located at the top of the next page to help you narrow your search. Each guiding question is linked to several useful internet sites. Click on the corresponding number on the map to get to the internet sites. Each link has a short description stating what is on the website.

  1. Is math taught differently today than it was in the past?
  2. What are manipulatives and what are they good for?
  3. What math concepts are taught in the grade before mine? The grade after?
  4. How could I make sure that I design assessments that prepare my students for the TAKS and beyond?
  5. Is it really necessary to repeat concepts taught in previous grades "reinvent the wheel?

Happy Surfing…
